Luis Pinheiro is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist, a Chartered Member of the Irish Psychological Society (M13992C) and a Senior Psychologist of the Portuguese Psychologists’ Association (CP 20535). He holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Clinical and Health Psychology from the School of Psychology, University of Minho (Portugal).

He has specialised training in autism and neurodevelopmental assessment, including formal training in the ADOS-2 and ADI-R, and extensive experience working within multidisciplinary diagnostic teams. His current clinical work focuses on autism assessment (With AutismCare) and support across the lifespan.

Luis is currently undertaking formal Prof Masters in Systemic and family Psychotherapy at University College Dublin (UCD). This training informs his clinical practice, particularly in working with individuals and families around relational dynamics, adjustment following diagnosis, communication, and emotional regulation.

Alongside his neurodevelopmental work, Luis has a strong background in sexual and gender diversity, having worked clinically with LGBTQIA+ individuals and families for over seven years. He holds advanced training in Clinical Sexology and is recognised as a Specialist in Clinical and Health Psychology and Sexology by the Portuguese Psychologists’ Association.

In Portugal, he is also a Certified Victim Support Technician (TAV) and a recognised specialist by the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality (CIG) in:

  • Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression, and Sex Characteristics
  • Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence

His professional experience further includes clinical work with older adults, including neuropsychological assessment and cognitive stimulation in dementia, as well as psychological practice with adolescents, adults, and older adults across diverse clinical contexts.
